The match event tracker
Record a match as it happens — who did what, where on the pitch, and when.
- Who can do this
- Where
The tracker is a full-screen recorder with its own match clock. You tap the pitch where the ball was, say who did it and what they did. Each tap becomes part of a passage of play, and the whole passage is saved together.
Open the tracker
Open the match from Games, tap the floating button, then Track Events (manager) or Event Clock (other staff).
Open the match from Games, click Manage match, then Track events. It has its own address, so you can bookmark it.
The option only appears from 15 minutes before kick-off.
What you need first
- A line-up. Players come from the line-up, so set it before kick-off. Substitutes come from the bench.
- Nothing else. RSVP, ratings and confirming the line-up make no difference to tracking.
What it gives you
Everything you record feeds:
- the tracker's own Match Events list, and the replay on the pitch
- the goal, card and substitution badges on the match's line-up
- your squad's season stats: goals, goals conceded, shots, dribbles, tackles, big chances and saves, across the General, Attack, Defense and Players tabs
- each player's own numbers
Two screens
You land on the clock. A chevron at the bottom slides the recording view up over it, with the pitch, the players and the timeline. On a landscape tablet the app shows both at once.
Everything you record is saved to Scouty as you go, so closing the app doesn't lose it. A passage you're in the middle of does get cleared — Scouty warns you with before you go.
Questions
When does Track Events appear?
From 15 minutes before kick-off. There's no cut-off afterwards, so you can carry on recording, or go back later and fill a match in.
Do I need a confirmed line-up?
Nothing blocks you, but the tracker picks players from your line-up. Without one there's nobody to attribute anything to.
