Match event tracking

Have you seen how Scouty tracks a match?

Tap the pitch where it happened, pick the player, pick what they did. Passes, shots, goals, tackles, fouls, cards and subs go in with the minute, and every player's stats add up on their own.

Try it

The real event tracker. Have a go.

This is the tracker coaches use on match day, recording a made-up game between Riverside FC and Harbour Utd. Nothing you do here is saved.

  1. 1Press play to start the match clock.
  2. 2Open the pitch and tap where the action happened.
  3. 3Pick the player, then what they did: a pass, a dribble, a shot.
  4. 4A shot or a goal opens the goal post: show where the ball went.

The back arrow starts the match over.

Goals and shots

Every shot, and where it finished.

Log a shot or a goal from the spot it was hit. The goal post opens so you can show where it went: in, saved, blocked, wide or off the post, with the foot or header it came from and the assist.

  • On target, off target and off the woodwork
  • Penalties, with the outcome
  • A shot map from every match

Riverside FC, this season

  • Goal Scored31
  • Shot On Goal118
  • Key Pass64
  • Header22
Passes and possession

Follow the ball from one player to the next.

Chain passes, key passes, crosses, carries, dribbles and headers into one move. Who had the ball, where they took it and who lost it are all on the pitch, so you can see how your team keeps possession.

  • Passes and key passes, completed or not
  • Carries, dribbles, crosses and headers
  • Corners from either corner flag

Riverside FC, this season

  • Pass1204
  • Carry312
  • Dribble97
  • Cross/Lob85
  • Corner Taken48
Defending

Tackles, interceptions and clearances count too.

Winning the ball back matters as much as scoring. Record every tackle, interception and clearance where it happened, and whose ball it was afterwards.

  • Ball won or lost, every time
  • The other team's attacks, without their names
  • Defensive stats for every player

Riverside FC, this season

  • Tackle241
  • Interception133
  • Clearance176
  • Lost Possession158
Fouls and cards

Fouls, yellow cards and red cards, with the minute.

Record a foul and who committed it, then the card if there was one. A second yellow turns red on its own, and a foul in the box can go straight to a penalty.

  • Fouls committed and fouls won
  • Second yellows become reds
  • Penalties from fouls in the box

Riverside FC, this season

  • Foul72
  • Yellow Card9
  • Red Card1
  • Substitution86
Substitutions

Make a change in two taps.

Tap the player coming off, pick who comes on from the bench. The pitch updates, and everyone's minutes stay right for their stats.

  • The bench one tap away
  • Minutes played kept for you
  • Every change on the timeline

Player stats

Every event becomes a stat.

Goals, assists, shots, passes, tackles and cards add up per player and per season. Coaches see who's improving, and players see their own numbers after the match.

  • Per match and per season
  • Top scorers, assists and form
  • Shared with the squad your way

Questions

Which match events can I track?

Passes, key passes, crosses, carries, dribbles, headers, shots, goals, corners, tackles, interceptions, clearances, lost possession, fouls, yellow and red cards, and substitutions.

Do I have to record events live?

No. Pause, rewind or scrub the match clock, and record during the game, at half time or afterwards from a video.

Can I track the other team's events?

Yes. Switch possession to them and their passes, shots and goals go in without names, so your stats show what they did against you too.

Who can record match events?

The squad's managers, in the Scouty app or on the web. Players and parents see the stats your squad's rules let them see.

Is it for grassroots and youth football?

Yes. It's built for volunteer coaches at grassroots, school and youth level. If you can tap a phone on the touchline, you can track a match.
